« Sometimes we find a subject that seems like it will make a great painting, but we still want to change things around in order to create a unique painting. Composition is the tool used to do this. In this Australian landscape colour and shape are working well to create the impact we see in this photo, however the tonal value range could be better. What makes me say that ? A feeling of lack of depth ; a lack of arial perspective and a lack of volume in the trees. So with this subject I don’t want to change everything, I would like to teach you how to know what needs to be changed to enhance the subject to make a better painting. Change is not what we are looking for, effective change is more important. Every subject requires some modification ; it is a portrait, landscape, marine or even abstracts. Understabnding what changes bring which effects is really what makes the difference between the painter and the artist. Trust me you will not want to miss this session !! »
