The challenge is learning how to control those intense pigments and mix colours that feel harmonious, atmospheric, and true to nature. In this week’s LIVE watercolor painting session, we’ll explore how to mix natural-looking greens, earth colours, skies, distant landscapes, and other subtle hues—without losing freshness or turning your mixtures into mud. We’ll also look closely at the landscape paintings of English artist George Vicat Cole RA (1833–1893) and examine how his approach to colour, atmosphere, and the English landscape can inspire our own watercolor painting.
