All levels are welcome. Janine Gallizia’s watercolour classes are designed for motivated beginners as well as more advanced artists. Each session focuses on essential fundamentals — structure, values, and composition — while offering deeper insights to help you progress at your own pace.

Can you learn watercolour online as effectively as in a studio?

Yes — and in many cases, learning watercolour online can even be more effective than in a traditional studio setting.
Why? With a structured approach like the one developed by Janine Gallizia, you benefit from a progressive and targeted method designed to quickly correct mistakes and significantly improve your results. Unlike one-off workshops, online classes give you access to recordings, allowing you to revisit demonstrations and advice as many times as needed.
Another major advantage is flexibility: you work at your own pace, according to your schedule, in a comfortable, pressure-free environment.
Live sessions, replays, and guided exercises recreate a real learning dynamic while giving you the time to experiment and absorb the teaching.
Finally, thanks to a pedagogy focused on artwork analysis and a deep understanding of fundamental principles (values, composition, simplification), you develop a critical eye and lasting artistic independence — something that is often harder to achieve in traditional studio classes.

How does it work?

30 minutes introduction about the message and the theme for our painting, the material used, and our goal for the session. Followed by a 1 hour painting demonstration where I walk you through every step, with 45 minutes of LIVE questions AND live critiques for those who painted along at the end of each session.
We will cover the 5 fundamentals; Shape, tonal values, colour, technique and structure.
We will look into what make the difference between one painting to another : creativity, emotion, a clear message and out-right bravado!

Take a look at my training sessions programed and reserve your place now in the sessions that interest you. PLACES ARE LIMITED. Each training course lasts approximately 2 hours and half. Each session is a unique course, not to be missed as we will continue to progress.

How long does a LIVE session last?

Each LIVE session lasts between 2 and 3 hours, including 30–45 minutes of live Q&A at the end of each session. This duration allows us to explore each topic in depth without tiring the participants.

How can you take advantage of the 'LIVES'?

Accepted Answer

Choose one or more of the sessions, (dates and at the times mentioned).
Click on "Add to Cart" or "Read more", then follow the instructions.
Once reserved, save the link in the email confirmation you receive. This will give you access to the LIVE.
No need to download Zoom to attend the meeting. 
With every inscription you can either join me live or watch the recording later at your leisure. Nothing to do. You will receive your link directly in your mailbox.

What materials do I need to follow the classes?

Basic watercolour supplies are all you need: suitable paper, brushes, a palette, and essential colours. Before each session, you’ll receive the necessary information so you can prepare with confidence.

Do I need to attend the class live?

Accepted Answer

No. Although the classes are offered LIVE, the replay is included. If you can’t attend on the day, you will automatically receive the recording by email and can watch it whenever you like.

When you purchase a « 4 or 10 LIVEs » sessions ticket, you will receive credits to book the sessions of your choice. To do this, you need to follow the same procedure as if you were booking without using a plan, meaning you must reserve the sessions of your choice. To do this, please go to the following page:

Then let us guide you. Once you are on the page titled « Fill out your details », please log in  by entering your e-mail address and password. You will then see the words "Plan of 4 or 10 sessions". Click on it and book your session. Repeat the operation for each reservation.
